Gwyneth Paltrow: The Ultimate Preppy Vegan

Where am I and why have I not realized that Gwyneth Paltrow is actually the Queen Bee of Preppy Vegans? After yesterday's post on kale chips, my friend Brooke informed me that Gwyneth had just been on Ellen cooking, the exact same thing. (Ellen actually asked me to do that segment, but I was busy that day.)

After her recent NPR interview, I think we could be friends. I mean, she's just like me, except taller, thinner, blonder, richer, and with an Oscar sitting on her mantelpiece. (Otherwise? Eerily similar.)

She shows just how easy and awesome those kale chips are, as well as cookin' up a fiesty paella that I just may have to try.

It's hard not to feel a bit outdone by Gwyneth in....everything. But I still love her and am interested in trying her cookbook. Sigh.

Has anyone else tried kale chips? What are your thoughts?

  3. I have never heard of kale chips, but I love kale and I am always trying to come up with new ways to eat, so I wil try them out!

Thanks for the Ellen clip. Don't know how I missed it since I watch her all the time. I can't wait to try the Paella recipe and I never thought that it could be done vegan. This will make a great party dish!! Thanks :)

  4. How is Gwyneth Paltrow a vegan when she eats fish and chicken?

  5. @ Veggie Mom, yaaay! Gwynnie is so inspiring. I thought it was cute when she cried over the aprons Ellen gave her. (It doesn't take much to win me over.)

  6. Well, whatever she is, she is not a vegan. She was on about making turkey for Christmas last week on UK telly.. I was surprised, as she had always been stated as THE example of celebrity vegan before. Oh well, I guess many of them change their morals with their coats..

I need to try making these crisps, but still a few weeks to go 'til the kale in the garden is big enough :)
